Each year, the Department of Pediatrics’ hosts a Research Week in May 2026. Throughout this week, pediatric research is highlight through a mixture of lectures, workshops, and interactive session, which are available to the entire University of Wisconsin Madison community. This year, many members of our lab presented posters including Chris Carachi, Katherine Konieczka, Andrea de Arbeu e Gouvea, and Sri Vaishnavi Krishnan. 

• Andrea de Abreu e Gouvea presented a systematic review on the use of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for mapping areas of the brain that control movement.
• Chris Carachi presented research using MRI to study changes in the pathway that carries movement signals from the brain to the spinal cord after an early brain injury.
• Katherine Konieczka presented on the reliability of the Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination (HINE), a movement assessment that looks at muscle tone, reflexes, and development. 
• Sri Vaishnavi Krishnan presented on reliability in scoring brain connectivity (TMS). These projects help ensure that the tools researchers and clinicians use are accurate and reliable and support research and care in pediatrics.
