EACD Conference
A team from our lab including, Dr. Gillick, Dr. Karumattu Manattu, Veronika Mak, Maren Schimek, Hannah Gotelaere, and Orla Ryan, attended and presented at the European Academy of Childhood-onset Disability Annual Congress (EACD) in Galway, Ireland, from June 3rd through 6th 2026.
The EACD focused on taking a holistic approach for people with childhood-onset disabilities and their families. Together, researchers and healthcare professionals from around the world were invited to discuss supporting people with disabilities to flourish throughout their entire lifetime.
Members from our lab presented on various topics, including development of a new head tracker to be used in brain connectivity assessments, nueroplasticity and how various therapies may allow the brain to change over time after an early injury, and strategies making infant MRI scans easier and more successful.
The congress provided an opportunity to connect with international colleagues, learn about emerging advances in childhood disability research, and share our work with the global scientific and clinical community.
We are proud of our team for representing the lab and contributing to important conversations that advance research and care for children and families affected by childhood-onset disabilities.
