Ellen Sutter, PT, DPT, PhD

About me: I am a PhD candidate in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Minnesota, and will be completing my dissertation work at UW-Madison. I completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Minnesota in 2020 and practice part-time as a pediatric physical therapist. My research focuses on understanding how the brain develops after an early brain injury, and the relationship between this early brain development and infant movement.

What motivates me: I value working on interdisciplinary teams, alongside of children and families, to perform research that is cutting-edge, clinically-relevant, and impactful. I’m motivated by opportunities to help children and families answer questions and accomplish goals, and to facilitate learning and inclusion inside and out of the lab environment.
