Shapiro Summer Research Program 2022
About me: I’m currently a medical student at UW-Madison and graduated with a B.S. in Neuroscience from NYU back in 2019. I am interested in the mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration and in discovering novel therapies to prevent and mitigate their progression. I have a background in basic science research and look forward to developing my clinical research skills and working in an interdisciplinary team.
What motivates me: I look forward to taking part in pioneering research that will significantly improve the quality of life of many patients and their families. In laying the foundation for evaluating neural connectivity in infants, the field will be able to reliably assess the efficacy of novel therapies. The brain has a remarkable ability to adapt. It’s up to us to investigate the mechanisms of neuroplasticity to unlock its potential.
