Nicole Currey, PT, DPT, PCS

Position title: Behavioral Assessment Specialist

About me: I am a licensed Physical Therapist, a board-certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist (PCS), and an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor. I received my Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from UW-La Crosse in 2009 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology from UW-La Crosse in 2006. I initially spent my career working in hospital-based settings including initial work in an outpatient therapy clinic and now currently in the inpatient setting with a strong interest in critical care for both neonate (NICU) and general pediatric populations (PICU).  I spend additional clinical time in the Waisman Brain Care clinic.

What motivates me: One of the things I love most about working in pediatrics is the opportunity to support both a child and their entire family through navigating a medical condition or injury.  I am passionate about providing high quality and accessible health education that meets the individual needs of the learner.  I am excited to expand in these areas by being a part of Dr. Gillick’s research and assisting current families and families in the future through the work being done in the Pediatric Neuromodulation Laboratory!
