Congratulations to Orla Ryan, a biomedical engineering undergraduate student in the PNL, for receiving the highly competitive Hilldale Undergraduate Research Fellowship! This distinguished award supports undergraduate students in designing and conducting independent research under the guidance of a faculty mentor.
Orla’s research project focuses on advancing data collection methods for transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) with infants. Her work aims to develop and evaluate infant-specific neuronavigation equipment, addressing the unique challenges of applying TMS assessment to study infants with early injury to the brain. By creating tools tailored to infants, Orla’s project has the potential to significantly improve the accuracy and comfort of neuromodulation research with infants and toddlers.
We’re incredibly proud of Orla’s innovative work and can’t wait to see the impact of her research!
