Congratulations to Bernadette Gillick, PhD on furthering pediatric neurorehabilitation!
Waisman investigator Bernadette Gillick, PhD was recently awarded two new grants to further her groundbreaking work: From the UW–Madison Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR), Gillick will explore the use of transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) paired with motor training to improve movement in infants with cerebral palsy. Arun Karumattu Manattu, a Scientist II for the Pediatric Neuromodulatory Lab, is also a co investigator for this ICTR grant. The second grant, with funding from NIH NICHD Small Business Tech Transfer, is for BabySTrong (Stimulating the Tragus for Neural Growth) to investigate whether taVNS can support feeding development in infants with brain injuries — helping improve early outcomes.
Congratulations, Bernadette, on helping further outcomes for infants with cerebral palsy and brain injuries!
