Position title: Behavioral Assessment Specialist
About Me: I am a licensed Physical Therapist with board certification as a Pediatric Clinical Specialist (PCS) and recognized as an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor. In 2013, I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from UW-Madison, complemented by a Masters in Biomechanics from UW-Milwaukee in 2009, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from UMASS-Amherst in 2007.Throughout my professional journey, I have accumulated diverse experience in healthcare settings, encompassing school-based practice, acute-care, acute rehabilitation, and outpatient clinics. In addition to my clinical and research endeavors, I exhibit a profound commitment to exercise, having held the designation of Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2006. Over the past 12 years, I have also demonstrated my passion by instructing group exercise classes, showcasing my dedication to promoting health and wellness.
What Motivates Me: One aspect that resonates profoundly with my role as a physical therapist is the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a child’s narrative. Frequently, I find myself entering the spheres of children and their parents during periods characterized by heightened emotions and significant challenges. It is immensely gratifying to assume the role of a facilitator, not only guiding a child in identifying and attaining functional milestones but also in infusing their lives with a sense of joy. Additionally, I am enthusiastic about advancing my proficiency in pediatric clinical practice, eagerly anticipating the prospect of ongoing professional development within the context of a dynamic multidisciplinary team.
